We are thrilled to announce that Aviomania is now a proud partner in the EUSOME Project—a groundbreaking European initiative aimed at revolutionizing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in the Southeast Mediterranean region.
What is EUSOME?
EUSOME (Enabling Autonomous Aerial Systems through Operational Methods and Technological Enhancements) is a four-year European Union-funded project (2025–2028) designed to accelerate the development and integration of autonomous aerial systems, including drones and electric/hybrid aircraft, into the region’s transportation infrastructure. With a total funding of nearly €6 million, the project is coordinated by the University of Cyprus and supported by a consortium of research institutions, aviation authorities, public agencies, and industry leaders.
Why It Matters
The Southeast Mediterranean faces unique challenges such as wildfire risks, complex terrain, and traffic congestion. EUSOME aims to address these by:
- Developing an open research and innovation infrastructure for AAM
- Creating a master plan to adopt EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) regulations on AAM
- Launching mentoring and training programs to build regional expertise
- Establishing the EUSOME Thematic Innovation Hub to explore market opportunities and promote public engagement
These efforts will pave the way for safer, more efficient, and sustainable air transport solutions in the region.
Aviomania’s Role
As a key player in the aerospace industry, Aviomania brings its expertise in designing and manufacturing microlight and light aircraft to the EUSOME consortium. Our involvement will focus on:
- Contributing to the development of autonomous aerial systems
- Collaborating on the creation of operational methods and technological enhancements
- Participating in training and mentoring programs to foster innovation
We are excited to be at the forefront of this transformative project, contributing to the future of air mobility in our region.
