Rotor Head:
Single-bearing Rotor Head. Utilizes SKF bearing and is designed for Gyros up to 400 Kg MTOW. The torque tube is longer so that several accessories can be installed. The teetering towers use roller bearings.
Dual-bearing Rotor Head. Utilizes SKF bearings and is designed for Gyros up to 560 Kg MTOW.
Options:
- Slider. Minimizes the 2 per rev stick shake
- Rotor Brake
Mechanical Pre-rotator:
Our mechanical pre-rotator fits our rotor heads and Rotax B, C, and E gearboxes with upright engine installations and gearbox down. Motion transfer is via a ½” (12.5mm) flex shaft. It is capable of 220 rotor RPM.
Recommended pre-spins are 150-160 rpm, as the ground run will only be about 5m longer and the stress on all parts is 50% less, so a much longer, service-free life can be achieved.
Booster Pre-rotator:
The lightest effective pre-rotator in the world. The head unit, including ring gear, is just 4 lbs (1.8 Kg). Complete installation with all wires, hardware and electronics is 8 lbs (3.6 Kg). Batteries range from 1.4 lbs (0.6 Kg) for lithium-types, which cannot be charged during flight (UL system), to 10 lbs (4.5 Kg) for sealed lead acid-types, which can be charged during flight.
The pre-rotator is capable of 140 rotor RPM but is designed to be left ON during the ground run, thus effectively boosting the acceleration of the blades for a short take off. The overall effect is like spinning the blades with a mechanical pre-rotator at 200+ RPM. The acceleration of the blades is slower than the mechanical pre-rotator and puts less stress on the rotor system. It is limited to 2 minutes of operation at a time. Care is needed to avoid overheating the system with repeated pre-spins. The lithium batteries can be charged within 30 min to1 hour in the car (on the way to the airport) and the lead acid, if flat, can be charged enough for one pre-rotation within 10 minutes with the engine running.
Rotor Blades:
Our rotor blades are manufactured from 6061T6 Aluminium and use a bonded skin construction method. This makes the blades light and strong. Because they are made in this manner they are the ONLY blades that have a positive twist which enables them to outperform any other rotor system available at present.
Also, the airfoil used is better performing than the standard 8H12 used by other manufacturers. The blades also have tip weight in order to give high inertia with low weight. These blades are available in sizes ranging from 22 to 29 feet. The blades come with their matched hub bar and are always test flown before shipping. These blades, because of their high performance, cannot be hand started.
Gyroplane Stick:
Our Gyroplane stick can be used on most gyros. All pivots use self-lubricating Olite bushes and Teflon friction washers. It’s lightly built and extremely strong. It is designed to be mounted on a 2”x 2” square tube with a 1” tube stick.
We can also supply an extra set of plates to shift the stick position 5 degrees forward or to the rear. The combination gives 14” of travel (35cm).
